Insomnia is a sleep disorder where people face difficulty in sleeping which thereby causes serious consequences on both physical health and mental health. The sleep cycle of the person is disturbed.
Generally this condition is prevalent in women or in older adults, approximately from the age of 21 to 60.
The main reasons why such condition has become common now is the complexities of modern life and an unhealthy lifestyle. There are activities of the day that are full time stressful which reduces the sleep during the night. This lack of sleep during the night does not let the body to revitalize physically and mentally.

The maintenance of Ojus is essential and is achieved by the proper sleeping pattern. There are two clinical conditions related to insomnia. They are Anidratha (lack of sleep) and Alpanidratha (broken sleep).
5 Home remedies one can follow at home to get out of the state of insomnia:
Warm milk before going to bed : Melatonin is a sleep inducing hormone founf=d in milk. Sip some warm milk before going to bed.
Try this concoction: Boil 3 grams of mint leaves in a cup of water for at least 5-20 minutes. Drink this lukewarm water mixed with a teaspoon of honey at bedtime.
Lessen the screen time: one must try and avoid using screen too much or if not, try and not to use the screen at least two hours before going to bed. Trythis and it will prove fruitful.
Reduce the intake of caffeine: One must immediately cut the intake of caffeine and aerated drinks if the person is extremely insomniac. If you suffer from mild insomnia, avoid the intake of caffeine after dusk.
Involve in physical activity: One must practice a sport or workout for minimum of 30 minutes so as to tire up the body and to channelize the energy.
